On the 22nd of August 2023, Thusa Lushaka Paralegal and Advice NPC held a community meeting at the Makhado Municipality Parking lot. The meeting was attended by residents of Eltivillas, New town, Old town, Makhado Park. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Makhado Municipality rates. Thusa Lushaka Paralegal and Advice NPC was then requested to intervene on the rates isssue. The residents allege that, the rates are very high, and they want to know the benchmark which the Municipality is using to arrive at those rates. They further allege that, their objections were ignored. Ours is to be on the side of the weak and the marginalized section of our society.
